Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.
Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule. Not intended for immediate relief. It may take a few days to achieve maximum results.
Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.

General Product Description:Nexium 24HR 7.00mg, 24HR 8.00mg is indicated for the treatment of frequent heartburn (occurs 2 or more days per week) in adults. It is a once-daily tablet with a maximum daily dose of NEXIUM 24HR 2.5mg. It is manufactured by AstraZeneca UK Ltd. Expiry date: 14th May, 2015.
Indications:Elderly adults with frequent heartburn and adequate acid control. May be used alone or in combination with other therapies. May be used in the treatment of frequent heartburn. May be used for 14 days in the treatment of heartburn at the same time every day.
This product is indicated for the treatment of frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days per week) in adults. In the treatment of frequent heartburn, Nexium 24HR 7.00mg, 24HR 8.00mg should be used for the first 14 days in the treatment of heartburn at the same time every day. For the treatment of frequent heartburn at the same time every day, the tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the components of this product. Not suitable for use in patients with severe cardiac failure. Contraindicated. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not use if you have ever had difficulty controlling your heartburn. Do not use if you have heartburn that is more frequent than usual.

Other Information:Nexium 24HR 7.00mg, 24HR 8.00mg contains esomeprazole as the active ingredient, and may cause gastrointestinal side effects, such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, or loose stools. These effects are usually mild and temporary. If any of these occur, do not drink fluid that may be consumed with this product.

If you are taking any medications for gastroesophageal reflux disease or peptic ulcer, you should not use Nexium 24HR 7.00mg, 24HR 8.00mg if you have any of these conditions, and not just if you take them in the morning. If you take any of the following medications, they may interact with this product: Zantac; Carbex; Lamivudine; Lexapro; Mesalamine; Paracetamol; Raloxifen; or sucralfate. Tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medications: Aspirin, disulfiram, doxazosin, paracetamol, proton pump inhibitors, or oral steroids. Do not use Nexium 24HR 7.00mg, 24HR 8.00mg if you have: Kidney disease, liver disease, glaucoma, trouble urinating (such as reflux, reflux/nausea, or urethral disease), or trouble with your eyesight (such as retinitis pigmentosa). The first generic drug launch by Eli Lilly, the maker of the antidepressant Nexium, will be the first time the drug is available without a prescription. The company is launching a generic version of the drug under the name Prilosec.
Lilly has said that its Nexium (esomeprazole) generics will begin selling on Tuesday, July 12. This is the same day that Eli Lilly, the maker of the cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor, will launch its Lipitor Zocor, which will have an orange-red color.
The generic is also the first time the drug is available without a prescription, as Lilly will launch the drug on Tuesday, May 4. The company has said that it is not currently accepting generic drugs.
Lilly has said that its Nexium will have a low-cost option for patients who need it. The company is not yet accepting the generic versions of Prilosec.
Lilly said that Prilosec is also not currently available as a generic drug in the U. S. and will be launched by Lilly under a separate company name.
Lilly said that it will continue to provide patients with a prescription for Prilosec.
A spokeswoman for Lilly said, "We are pleased to be able to launch our generic Prilosec, following the successful launch of the first Prilosec (esomeprazole). We are pleased to have the opportunity to launch our generic Prilosec at a lower cost."
